Just Be Yourself is a comedy about identity. This short film was written and directed by Stuart Davis, and debuted at the Hawaii International Film Festival in 2014, then screened at ARPA International Film Festival in Los Angeles. It stars Sebastian Siegel, Kandyse McClure, and Alison Macatee, and Stuart Davis.
JBY tells the story of Ira Meese, a man who inherits a puzzle empire and quickly runs it into the ground. His search for employment grows more and more desperate until he finally gets a genuinely ‘odd’ job offer: Just Be Yourself. At first it sounds like the easiest thing in the World. But shortly after he takes up the task, he finds a 'self' is a slippery thing to command.
For fans of Napolean Dynamite, Being John Malkovich, or anyone who's wished David Lynch would make comedies, Just Be Yourself is recommended viewing.
