Album Notes
Let’s start out with a positive statement: I Need, Narcoleptic Mary, and You Will Heal are all valued parts of my live shows. Now, as for the rest of this record… You would think the natural progression for a writer would be to get better, but personally I prefer my earliest album Idiot Express over its’ successor Big Energy Dream, which I think is too folky (and my voice sounds weird because I was sick right before we made it).
Any time I hear a skinny white guy with an acoustic guitar singing a song as preachy as God Of Fossil Fuel (even if it is true) it makes me want to stuff an ether rag in his yap. But hey, I was a young, troubled, justice-oriented, apocalypse-ushering type of guy, and it seemed a good song at the time. Before I became a monk, I did a lot of preaching to the converted. I’m still almost young (26), I remain a frequent host of trouble, justice is as important as ever, and I continue in my apocalyptic expectations, but, the way I approach
a song has changed dramatically. That is to say, I have become a good songwriter (before Self Untitled I had written some good songs, but I was not quite a good songwriter. Now I am, but I still write bad songs, which is how it will be until I ascend and become a Perfect Holy Monk Songwriter in Heaven). I have the Divers, Peter Mayer, and Carl Menk to thank for much of what is cool about Big Energy Dream. I haven’t seen the Divers or Carl in years, so if you see them tell them I said hello. I’m still in regular contact with Peter Mayer, so I’ll tell him myself. Let’s just say BED was an interesting milestone.

What are MP3s?
MP3 is stands for MPEG, audio
layer 3. It is a compression algorithm applied to audio files used to decrease
file size, thus making them the optimal format for storing audio files via
the Internet. For more information, please see How MP3 Files Work.
Are MP3s Legal?
Since MP3s are only a file format, they are perfectly legal. However
controversy arises when the data (i.e., a song) stored within an MP3
are copyrighted and sold and distributed without permission. Just as it is
illegal to copy a CD and give it to a friend, it is illegal to copy an MP3
and distribute without permission from the owner of that material.
How do I play MP3s?
Please see our 2 Steps to Buying Music from StuartDavis.com.
Do MP3 album downloads include the cover artwork?
Yes they do.
Are the CDs burned MP3s, or are they traditional production copies?
The CDs sold here are the studio recorded “pressed” CDs and not “burned” CDs.
I am using Mac OSX and the song files won’t play.
Try renaming the files so they end in “.mp3″
How much is shipping and handling?
We offer shipping options for delivery within the United States and International orders. US shipping is $2.00 per order, whether you buy 100 cds or 1 cd. How much easier can it get? For international orders, extra shipping charges apply and we’ll contact you after the order has been placed to work out the best delivery methods suited to your needs. In most cases, we use the United States Postal Service for shipping fulfillment. Most items will arrive within 7-10 business days.
What’s your return policy?
We offer a 30 day money back guarantee on all products. If you would like to return or exchange an item, please fill out this request form, and we will contact you with instructions on how to send the item(s) back. We’re sorry, but shipping charges are not refundable.
CD Return Policy
CDs can be returned within 30 days of receipt of shipment. They must be unopened and still in their original plastic wrapping.
Defective CDs will be exchanged for the same CD title.
